Make this hollyhock “tea” for the bath or combine with vinegar for a hair conditioner
You can use hollyhock leaves, hollyhock flower petals, or a combination of both in this soothing recipe.
• 2 handfuls hollyhock flower petals and/or leaves
• Water to cover
Cover 2 handfuls of hollyhock leaves, flower petals, or a combination of both in cool, clean, unchlorinated water to about 1 inch over the plant material. This can be done in a bowl or large glass jar but should be covered and set aside in a shady spot indoors overnight.
Strain. Use the spent hollyhock leaves and flowers as a poultice for rash, splinters, or burns before composting.
Add hollyhock soother to a bath to soften skin, or combine with vinegar for a gentle hair conditioner. For the hair conditioner, use 1 cup hollyhock soother to 1/4 cup vinegar.
Use your hollyhock soother immediately, or store in the refrigerator for 1 to 2 days.
